On 9th July 2021, I just logged in to my YouTube account and checked the notifications. I smiled because there are some people who commented on my videos and thanked me for uploading that video. But, I still didn’t check the viewer so I just went to YouTube Analytics and I’m just so shocked… by the graph and the number itself because for me, it’s freaking huge.. got 1, 1777 in the last 28 days???? Are you kidding?? okay??? seres arrrrrr??? *my tweet can express how excited I am*
It’s so hard to get viewers on YouTube if I am targeting the wrong audience. You see, YouTube is now loaded with thousands of channels. And these channels have millions of videos which are staying on YouTube for years. So my videos, to be honest, can not beat them regardless of how much effective keywords I use. Because those videos, over the years, managed to collect so many views, likes and comments that the YouTube algorithm prefers to show them in the search results. So when my audience looks for a video, the first ones that appear before them are those old and most viewed videos.
And the second ones that come in the recommendation section or in the sidebar are the new videos that are getting fast engagements. My videos, unfortunately, of course, don’t even show up, let alone being viewed by my target audience. So, if I want to get views to my YouTube videos, I do not just have to upload awesome content and use related tags and eye-ball catching Titles, but I also have to collect some initial views, likes, and comments. Because when I drive some quick views, likes and comments to my videos, YouTube will think that maybe my video is an awesome one and being loved by people. So YouTube will start increasing its ranking.
Then, my videos started to get 1,793 views + 15 subscribers in the last 28 days. I feel so proud and thank you so much for watching my videos.
